How to Deactivate or Restore an IP

IP rules help secure your Squaretalk account by limiting access to approved networks only.

This guide explains how to deactivate and restore IP rules safely.

📌 Note: Admin permissions are required to access IP settings.

Step-by-Step: Deactivate an IP Rule

Deactivating a rule temporarily removes its access permissions without permanently deleting it.

  1. Go to Settings → Security → IP Management and locate the IP rule you want to disable.

  2. Click the “Pause” icon (“Deactivate IP”) in the Actions column.

✅ The IP address will no longer have access based on that rule.

Step-by-Step: Restore an Inactive or Expired IP Rule

If an employee returns, a contractor needs renewed access, or a rule expired automatically, you can restore it without recreating it.

  1. Go to Settings → Security → IP Management and click “View Inactive IPs.”

  2. Locate the previous rule and click the Restore icon in the Actions column.

✅ The rule is reactivated with its original settings.
