How to Restore Archived Recordings

How to Restore Archived Recordings

When recordings are archived, they are moved to secure cold storage for 180 days to free up active space.

Archived recordings are not immediately available for playback, but can be restored as an exception if there is enough space in the storage.

How to Identify Archived Recordings

In Reports → Calls, archived recordings are marked with a❄️ Snowflake icon.

  1. If the headphone icon is grayed out with a snowflake, it means the entire recording is archived and unavailable for playback.
  2. If the headphone icon is active but has a snowflake, it means only some parts (call legs) of the recording are archived, while the remaining parts are still available to play.

How the Restore Process Works

Restoring a recording requires retrieving it from cold storage. Kindly contact our Technical Support team for further assistance with this.

Once a restore is initiated, the system begins the retrieval process, which may take 12–48 hours.

📌 Note: This delay is due to AWS infrastructure and cannot be sped up.

Best Practice

If you regularly need access to older recordings, it is recommended to increase your storage or retention plan to avoid delays caused by archiving.
