How to Set Outbound Route Priority

The Squaretalk Platform processes outbound routes based on priority order. This is important when an agent matches the rules of multiple outbound routes at the same time.

Outbound route priority ensures the system selects the correct route and caller ID every time.

How Outbound Route Priority Works

When an agent matches more than one outbound route, Squaretalk checks the routes from top to bottom.

The rule is simple:

  • The route higher in the list has a higher priority

  • The first matching route is the one the system will use

How to Change or Set Outbound Route Priority

You can update route priority directly from the Outbound Routes list.

  1. Go to Settings → Voice → Phone Numbers → Outbound

  2. You’ll see all the outbound routes listed. Simply drag and drop them up or down to reorder.

Best Practice: Place Prefix Routes First

Routes that use a prefix (for example: 99) should always be placed at the top.

This ensures the Squaretalk Platform detects the prefix route first, before applying general outbound routes without prefixes.
