How to Use the Webphone Efficiently

How to Use the Webphone Efficiently?

The Webphone is a browser-based phone built directly into the Squaretalk Platform. If you are using a WEB Extension, it lets you make, receive, and manage calls without leaving the platform — and it stays flexible so it never gets in your way.

You can open it anytime by clicking the phone (handset) icon in the top-right corner.

This guide shows you how to:

  • Move and manage the Webphone window (PiP/In Platform Mode)
  • Control calls during a live conversation (Transfer Call/Conference Call)

Move the Webphone Window

The Webphone is designed to stay visible without blocking your work.

  1. Click and drag the Webphone window to drop it anywhere on your screen

💡 Why this helps
You can keep the Webphone visible while working in Contacts, Messaging, or other tabs — without losing focus.

Picture-in-Picture vs In-Platform Mode

  1. Picture-in-Picture lets you detach the Webphone from the Squaretalk tab. Click the first icon in the upper-right corner of the Webphone to activate it and make sure the Webphone stays visible even when you:
  • Switch browser tabs
  • Open other applications
  • Move outside the Squaretalk interface
  1. Click the “Back to Tab” icon (the second icon in the upper-right corner of the Webphone) to go back to In-Platform mode.

What controls do I have during a live call?

  1. Hold a Call. Use Hold when you need a moment without ending the call. Meanwhile, the client will hear your configured hold music or message

  2. Transfer a Call. Click on the arrow button and choose “Transfer” to pass the call to another available user.

  3. Create a Conference Call. Bring someone else into the conversation by clicking on the arrow button and selecting “Add +”.
