How to Make and Receive Voice Calls in Squaretalk
Squaretalk makes calling simple. Whether you’re dialing a new number, calling a saved contact, or answering an incoming call — everything happens in one place.
This article shows you how to:
- Initiate a voice call
- Use the Webphone to make calls
- Receive incoming calls
- Redial previous numbers
How do I initiate a voice call?
You have two quick ways to start a call in Squaretalk.
This is the fastest way to call someone you already know.
- Go to the Contacts tab.
- Find the contact you want to call.
- Click the green phone icon next to their name.

📞 The call starts immediately.
Option 2: Call using the Webphone
Once you click the phone icon on top of the page and the Webphone is open, you have three ways to place a call.
1. Numpad (manual dialing): Use this when calling a new or unsaved number.
2. Contacts (one-click calling): Call saved contacts(internal or external) without typing numbers.
3. Recents (redial a previous call): Perfect for quick callbacks.
How do I receive incoming calls?
When a call comes in:
- Your phone rings (Webphone, Softphone, or IP Phone — depending on your setup)
- A call notification appears on the screen
- Your status changes automatically to Incoming once you answer
Quick Checklist if Calls Don’t Work
If you can’t make or receive calls, check:
Is your status set to Available?
Is your extension connected (phone icon)?
Is your microphone enabled?
Did you run a System Check?
