Storage in the Squaretalk Platform refers to the total amount of data your account uses, mainly generated from daily operations such as calls, messages, emails, and contacts.
📌 Note: Audit logs are not included and are always retained by the system.
Storage Period (Retention): This defines how long your data is kept in the system. (12 months, 24 months, or more)
The system uses a rolling time window, meaning:
Only data within the defined period is considered active
Older data is automatically archived (or deleted) by the system
When storage approaches its limit, the system will:
notify admins
begin managing older data automatically
📌 To learn more about system notifications, see: Where to View Storage Notifications.
Data is managed in two stages:
1. Archive: Older recordings are moved to secure storage (cold storage) for 180 days.
These do not count toward your active storage limit.
2. Deletion: After a defined period in the archive, data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
Admins can view storage usage at Settings → General → Storage.
