In the Squaretalk Platform, you can start an outbound WhatsApp conversation with a client directly from the My Messaging tab.
Because WhatsApp is regulated by Meta rules, outbound conversations usually require an approved WhatsApp Template.
This guide explains how to initiate an outbound WhatsApp chat step by step.
You start an outbound conversation when:
you want to message a client first
the client has not contacted you recently
the previous WhatsApp session has expired
you need to send updates, reminders, or follow-ups
Go to the Messaging tab.
Click New Conversation (or the outbound message option).
Select the phone number you want to send the message from.
Choose an existing client from the contact list drop-down menu, or enter the client's phone number.
Choose an approved WhatsApp Template linked to your WABA (depends on which WABA the chosen number is connected to).
Select the language of your template.
Preview the message (The system will automatically fill in dynamic fields like Name or Company using the information in the contact's profile) & click Send.
Once the client receives your template message and replies to it:
the chat goes to Open
you can continue the conversation using free-form messages (within the CSW)
WhatsApp allows free messaging only during the Customer Service Window (CSW).
If the CSW is not active, you must use an approved template to contact the client.
