How to Edit a Contact and View Previous Communications

The Contacts tab in the Squaretalk Platform allows you to keep customer information updated and review previous interactions.

This is useful when you need to:

  • update a phone number, email, or any other details

  • add notes before a follow-up

  • check past calls or chats with the customer


How to Edit a Contact

You can update a contact anytime from the Contacts tab.

Steps
  1. Go to the Contacts tab.

  2. Search for the contact you want to edit.

  3. Click the contact name (or the whole contact row).

  4. Click Edit on the details panel that opens.

  5. Update the contact information (name, number, email, notes, tags, etc.) and click Save.

✅ Your changes are applied immediately.


Initiate a Call/Chat from the Contact Details Panel

Inside the contact details window, you can instantly start a communication with your selected contact.

  • Start a call: Click the phone icon to initiate a voice call.
    📌 Important: Your extension must be connected in order to place calls.
  • Start a WhatsApp chat: Click the WhatsApp icon to start a chat with the contact.


How to View Previous Communications (Calls & Chats)

Each contact includes a history of previous interactions that can be found in the reports, but also in the contact details panel.

Here you can review:

  • previous inbound and outbound calls

  • call timestamps and duration

  • previous chats and messaging conversations

  • chat statuses (open, closed, etc.)

💡Useful Tip: Customize your view by setting the date range, organizing the columns with drag and drop, or selecting/deselecting the specific columns.
